The recent hot spell and forthcoming summer holiday period means that this is the ideal time to go over a few basics in hair care, based upon the advice we receive from our suppliers in the States. Before going in the pool or the ocean:
– Soak your hair thoroughly with clean water.
– Apply conditioner or leave-in conditioner to your hair. This will prevent the hair from soaking up as much chlorine or salt by giving it a barrier of protection.
– for females, put your hair in a ponytail or loose braid if possible.
After getting out of the water:
– Immediately wash your hair thoroughly with shampoo and conditioner (this is very important).
Sun exposure:
– Minimize sun exposure to the hair.
– Use a leave-in conditioner with UV protection.
– In extreme sunshine, hats are always helpful.
Most importantly if you are off on holiday – enjoy yourself!
