People often find out about us through word of mouth – our clients are our best adverts – so don’t be fooled by businesses spending large sums to get up the search engine rankings – this doesn’t mean that they are experts in helping with hair loss, only experts in online marketing!

In over twenty years, at Hair Technology International we have come across many ingenius ways of making thinning hair look thicker.

The most common techniques is to use a concealer of some sort – the two main types are colour-matched fibres which are added to the thinning area and coloured spray concealer, applied much like a hairspray to disguise the scalp.

We supply the market leaders in both these products but the key thing is to realise when they may no longer be working properly : if the person has thinning hair but still has some coverage these products can work well but as the hair thins more, so the concealers can become more noticeable.

For this reason if you are using these products just keep an eye on the results and try to see what others are seeing. If the hair loss has become too much, we would normally recommend another route, whether taking the hair short to make the thinning less noticeable or to consider the non-surgical alternatives available.

As we always say nothing is better on your head than hair and taht is what can acheived through one of the non-surgical grafting procedures we carry out. Hair is just made of keratin and related proteins. The only living part is the base of the root – the rest is really just dead tissue. For this reason the hair we can supply is no more dead or alive than a person’s own natural hair and for this reason the two are entirely compatable.

Although we always try to be approachable, at Hair Technology International we realise just how serious hair loss can be for the person affected.

Often people suffering are the butt of cruel jokes or are told to simply forget it and get on with their life. This seriously underestimates the issue and a recent survey only underlines this.

According to the survey by Asda Pharmacy, 33% of people worry about hair loss whilst 17% feel self-conscious and 14% felt unattractive. Importantly, 26% had been teased by loved ones over hair loss and 15% even experienced a loss of libido, probably due to lowered self-esteem.
